A Polícia Federal (PF) iniciou nesta terça-feira (4) a segunda fase da Operação Postal Off, que começou em setembro de 2019 em Santa Catarina e investiga fraudes nos Correios -- grandes cargas eram distribuídas sem faturamento ou com faturamento inferior ao devido.
Nesta fase, segundo a PF, foram identificados indícios de participação de um empresário titular de agências franqueadas e de sete funcionários dos Correios, que atuavam auxiliando nas postagens ilegais.
Equipes saíram da Superintendência da PF no Rio, na Praça Mauá, no fim da madrugada, para cumprir seis mandados:
Um na Barra;
Um Realengo;
Dois na sede dos Correios, na Cidade Nova;
Um na Freguesia
Um na Gardênia Azul.
Policiais cumpriam ainda mandados de busca e apreensão em São Paulo, Praia Grande (SP) e São Vicente (SP).
Também foram expedidos mandados de afastamento de funcionários dos Correios de suas funções.
Em ambas as fases a investigação contou com a colaboração da Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos.
A Operação Postal Off
Na primeira etapa, em 6 de setembro de 2019, a PF cumpriu 12 mandados de prisão -- no RJ, o empresário e advogado Indio da Costa, ex-deputado federal, ex-vereador e ex-secretário do Rio, foi preso.
A PF afirma que a organização criminosa subfaturava valores devidos à Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos (EBCT), além de desviar para si grandes clientes no seguimento de postagem de cartas comerciais.

The Federal Police (PF) started on Tuesday (4) the second phase of the Postal Off Operation, which started in September 2019 in Santa Catarina and investigates fraud in the Post Office - large cargoes were distributed without invoicing or with invoicing lower than due .
At the home of one of the suspects, in Barra da Tijuca, police officers seized about R $ 3.5 million in cash.
At this stage, according to the PF, signs of participation were identified by a businessman holding franchised branches and seven postal workers, who worked to assist in illegal postings.
Teams left the PF Superintendency in Rio, at Praça Mauá, at the end of the morning, to carry out six warrants:
One in Barra;
A Realengo;
Two at the Post Office, in Cidade Nova;
One in the Parish
One in Blue Gardenia.
Police officers were also serving search and seizure warrants in São Paulo, Praia Grande (SP) and São Vicente (SP).
Warrants for the removal of postal workers from their functions were also issued.
In both phases the investigation had the collaboration of the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company.
The Postal Off Operation
In the first stage, on September 6, 2019, the PF carried out 12 arrest warrants - in Rio de Janeiro, the businessman and lawyer Indio da Costa, a former federal deputy, former councilor and ex-secretary of Rio, was arrested.
The PF claims that the criminal organization under-invoiced amounts owed to the Brazilian Postal and Telegraph Company (EBCT), in addition to diverting large customers to itself following the posting of commercial letters.
